About Me....
Who is Jody Kalenberg?
Hello! My name is Jody Kalenberg. I am a Brainerd High School graduate, in fact, this fall we we will be celebrating our 30-year class reunion. I married my high school sweetheart, Lincoln, 28 years ago. Lincoln and I are blessed with 3 grown children and newly promoted to the best title of all, Grandparents!
I am running for school board because I believe our children deserve an education that prioritizes reading, writing and arithmetic, while also installing respect and responsibility to create a positive learning environment. A back-to-basics approach will help to restore confidence in our educational system and ensure that every child receives the high-quality education they deserve. I aim to create a positive and effective learning environment for all students and teachers!
Classroom safety for both our teachers and students is my utmost concern. I am dedicated to ensuring our teachers are given a safe environment in which they can equip our kids with the tools needed to be successful adults in the next chapter of their lives.
We need to be teaching our children HOW to think NOT what to think. After all, the only natural resource we have for future adults and leaders is our kids.
Advocating for increased parental involvement in the educational process and decision-making ensures parents have a say in their children's education and the needs and values of families are reflected in our schools. . Bridging the gap between parents and educators will make for happier, healthy, and more productive classroom.
When my husband and I attended Brainerd High School our district was known for its strong academic standards and unfortunately, that has slipped away. I would like to work with parents, educators and administration to bring Brainerd back to one of the top districts in the state. That's why I am running for school board, to return ISD 181 to a school district people seek out to sent their children too.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of our children and the future of our community.
